Obstetric care usually involves care before conception (contraception, fertility etc.), pregnancy, childbirth and immediately after birth. Gynaecological care refers to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of any issues related to the female reproductive organs (including breasts). A Gynaecologist deals with all aspects of sexual health including contraception (e.g Merina IUD insertion), preventive care, cancer screenings (e.g pap smears) and assessment of the pelvis, cervix, external genitalia. (e.g. Endo pain, vaginismus, STI checks etc.)
