iCare4U, established in 2015 by Adam & Emma Atherton and George & Crystal Nita, endeavors to create Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) premier Respite & Rehabilitation Centre in Port Moresby for women and children affected by HIV, domestic violence, and neglect. As PNG’s official Adoption partner, iCare4U also provides sanctuary for neglected and abandoned infants. This initiative springs from the belief that every individual possesses intrinsic value, deserving of love and care. By striving to restore dignity, rebuild identity, and release hope, iCare4U aims to make a significant impact, one life at a time, in a country where healthcare access and social support are severely lacking.
Papua New Guinea, Australia’s nearest neighbor, faces dire healthcare challenges, including high rates of early death and suffering due to inadequate services for those battling HIV and domestic violence. iCare4U’s groundbreaking project on a 1.5-acre site in Gereka is advancing towards establishing a first-of-its-kind medium to long-term stay facility, which contrasts sharply with the existing short-term emergency services. Supporting both the national HIV/AIDS Strategy and W.H.O goals for the Western Pacific Region, iCare4U invites global support through donations and volunteer efforts, ensuring that 95% of contributions directly benefit its crucial on-ground projects and the people they serve.
